Gameweek 5 in the UEFA Champions League continues with Paris Saint-Germain taking on Liverpool in the Parc des Princes at 8pm. This game is a must win for both sides in Group C as 1st and 4th are separated by just 2 points. PSG sit in 3rd behind Liverpool and must record victory if they’re to maintain control over their own destiny in the Champions League. Liverpool can still guarantee qualification for the Knockout rounds if they beat Napoli at Anfield by two goals or more in two weeks. Despite this Jurgen Klopp will want a victory to ease pressure on his side as they head into a busy Christmas period, with fixtures against Bournemouth and Manchester United either side of their potentially crucial tie with Napoli.

PSG’s domination of Ligue 1 continues as they sit top of the table, 15 points clear after winning all 14 of their games. Unsurprisingly, PSG stars, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar are the club’s leading goalscorers in all competitions this season however are injury doubts after picking up injuries on International duty with France and Brazil respectively. Thomas Tuchel did allay fears in his pre-match press conference by confirming the pair should be fit to start. Liverpool are in similar domestic form, unbeaten in the Premier League, they sit second behind Manchester City, although question marks remain over Liverpool in big games this season, where they have failed to beat any rival, domestic or European, following their 3-2 victory over PSG at Anfield in September. Impressively however, Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane are ranked in the top 10 for goals scored in the Premier League this season.

Group C has been one of the most entertaining groups in this year’s Champions League and tonight’s match will be no different. Expect an exciting clash with goals, drama and dazzling skill paramount in Paris.
